Girls Adopt a Donkey Called Toby

In 2007 the girls and officers adopted a donkey called Toby. Toby lives at the Elisabeth Svendsen Trust Donkey Sanctuary in Abbey Hey, Manchester which is a centre aimed at bringing enjoyment and pleasure into the lives of children with special needs. For many children it is their first contact with such a large animal, but because the donkey is calm and gentle and very often amusing - the children not only develop love and respect for animals, but with riding skills, their balance and co-ordination improve and because of these new abilities they gain confidence.

A Donkey Called Toby

Early in 2007 the girls and officers went to visit Toby at the Donkey Sanctuary and had a chance to get up close and do some grooming.

On Palm Sunday a friend of Toby’s called Molly visited our Church and lead us in a walk around the parish with one of our young smaller members on her back. We hope to see the donkeys again shortly.
